How would industrialists, consumers, and workers respond to the statement, "Industrialism has improved life for Americans"?

What are the relative merits of industrialization?

One the one hand, millions of jobs are created, building up economies and infrastructure in ways that transform myriad lives from subsistence to comfort, and many to great wealth.

On the other hand, much of the rush to industrialization over time is exploitative, taking advantage of people and our environment.

This is the lens through which we examine industrialization.
