Adding a Soundtrack to Motion Pictures in Garageband

It’s fun. But imagine how engaged students will be when you have them practice their Mandarin (or Spanish, or French…) in one of their favorite films (credit Makky Fung of Canadian International School – Hong Kong for making it work for their Mandarin department).

Start by downloading this short clip from Mr. Bean.

Import the clip into Garageband – simply drag-and-drop it into the Album Artwork track in a podcast (or a movie in iLife ’11).

Select and delete the Movie Sound track.

Record your own dialogue. Change the pitch of voices or add other audio effects as they suit your characters. Drag-and-drop sound effects, jingles, etc.
